The biggest trip planned... Alaska someday. Without the RV will be Thailand.

NW Kansas Short Trip Jan 16-18 2016

Got the winter blue's so decided to take a short trip despite the cold! Could of stopped by the RV show at Bartle Hall but from I've heard there was nothing new.. Glad we spent the time and money elsewhere!

First stop was Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum in Abilene KS. Overall interesting but the museum was overwhelming with the amount of information available during both his General and Presidential days. Should of drank more coffee that morning! Only a few snapshots we took.. Take the trip it's worth it!

Second stop was the GreyHound Hall of Fame right across the street. It's free of charge but always give back. The history of the sport was interesting. We don't follow the sport but those that do they have a extensive blood line background.

Last find of the day before we watched the Chiefs lose was the World's Largest Spur in Abilene. Located on the fairgrounds.

Accommodations that night was the Covered Wagon campground. No complaints. Based on our meter the electricity isn't weak and the cable provided has a lot of channels, you'll need this in central Kansas! The shower house was clean and warm but we didn't use it. The website isn't that great which might turn some away but I'd recommend it. Just be aware Abilene is a train town so you will hear trains regardless where you are!!
Good night sun and decent temps..

The next day (Sunday) was a lot of driving! First stop Minneapolis... no we didn't drive to Minnesota! Rock City is outside of Minneapolis to the north 4-5 miles. Plenty of signs can't get lost. Interesting little town besides Rock City.

Next stop was the World's Largest Ball of Twine in Cawker City. Gift shop was closed but for a price you can add to this ball.

Last stop of the day before we headed back to Salina for the night. "Historical Geographical Center of the U.S.A".  There's a gift shop in downtown Lebanon KS but couldn't find it!

Stayed at the KOA in Salina Sunday night. The bathhouse was a redneck paradise.. camo and all! It was clean and warm. Would recommend this campground also. Note it is close to the highway! There's a machinery museum across the street which we didn't get to. We were worn out and ready to get home!

The overall trip and 2 days out of hopefully at least 30 nights in the RV this year!

Please note this is my first blog so bear with me!

Travels planned for 2016!

This is the long trips I've plan for 2016. The Louisiana trip will be a combination of a cruise and sight seeing. Not going to mention when we're going for privacy reasons. This is just the long trips.. might overload the server with the short trips!
